I like many things about being a wedding photographer. One of my very favourite moments is when you get up early and, before even having your first coffee of the day, you run to the corner shop. You walk to the magazine shelf and nervously look around. Then you see it, the freshly printed copy of a wedding magazine. You open it and take a deep breath. The smell of ink hits your nostrils and you start flicking through the pages. Then you spot it. So familiar and at the same time so different, given the new shape and form. Your couple is in there. Your images. The world seems to stand still while you immerse yourself in the article. You smile and you feel like you are standing on top of the world. At that very minute you are the proudest photographer on the planet. You feel like running around and exclaiming to absolute strangers "See?! I took those." For a split second you are even considering that maybe the store owner would like you to sign a few copies for them. I hope this moment will never stop feeling magical for me.
Today is one of those days and the feeling is quadrupled as the wedding in question is in one of the editor of my favourite wedding magazine - Bash. Thank you so much Kate & Brian for letting me be a part of your beautiful wedding. For your trust, your happy tears and all your kind words that made me feel like what I do is worthwhile.
Kate & Brian's wedding is one of those I could say so much about, but this time I will let the images speak for themselves. Below I'm sharing a selection of my favourite images from the day. I hope you enjoy them and if you haven't picked up the new issue of Bash, I urge you to run to a store right away and pick one up.
